| "Don't
take a chance! |
| Protect
your Guest Room attendants with the
Door Sentry" |
|
Guest
Room Attendants work in a dangerous environment
and have had no options in the past. Surveillance
cameras and roving Security Officers are helpful
but very limited as to what they can actually
do to safe-guard Guest Room Attendants. Surveillance
cameras often give evidence of a crime, but
usually after the incident. Security patrols
cannot cover every floor, every room, all
the time. Criminal activity is increasing
in every facet of society. Unfortunately,
Hotels and Resorts are not exempt from this
activity.
In the past Guest Room Attendants have been
intimidated, propositioned and assaulted by
individuals while cleaning guest rooms. Doors
are propped open with a simple door stop,
towel, waste receptacle…etc. An individual,
whether registered to that room or not, can
enter the room and close the door behind them,
trapping a Guest Room Attendant inside. The
trauma from an incident like the aforementioned
can be devastating to a Guest Room Attendant
and the entire Housekeeping Department.
These incidents often result in costly Workman’s
Comp claims, loss of work-time and even negative
publicity about your property.
The Door Sentry was invented by Security Specialists
to deter criminal activity from happening
to Guest Room Attendants performing housekeeping
duties. It is a proven fact that criminals
are less likely to commit a crime with an
open door to a room or an entire structure.
Employers have an obligation to provide the
safest work environment possible. The Door
Sentry will prove to be a valuable asset to
your Housekeeping Department and your company.
You can make no greater commitment to your
valuable staff. |
| Why
Use A Door Sentry? |
| |
It
is a proven fact that a person
is less likely to involve themselves
in criminal activity with an open
door to that structure. The “Door
Sentry” was invented to
deter criminal activity and intent.
Using a “Door Sentry”
greatly reduces the chance of
an incident (assault, rape, etc..)
from happening to your employees. These incidents
unfortunately have occurred in the past. The “Door
Sentry” is currently being
marketed to hotels and resorts
across the country for use in
their housekeeping departments
to safeguard guest room attendants. |
|
|
| How
It Works |
| |
The
Door Sentry attaches in seconds
to both right-side and left-side
hinge mounted doors. A locking
slide bar is secured in place
with a simple padlock or hole-lock
making it impossible for the door
to be closed until the Guest Room
Attendant has removed it. Quick
on and quick off so your staff
doesn’t lose valuable time.
A closed door is a dangerous situation.
Your Guest Room Attendants will
feel and be safer in any situation
knowing the door can’t be
closed, trapping them inside.
If an individual propositions
or intimidates a Guest Room Attendant
who is performing their duties,
they should not panic. With the
Door Sentry in place, they have
an exit and aid has an entrance.
Always! |

| Construction |
| |
The
Door Sentry is constructed of
a super-strength poly-carbonate
material (Lexan143R-1111 by GE).
All metal components are made
of stainless steel. The Door Sentry
is rated to withstand over 4,700
lbs of psi. Its unique design
allows it to be used on right
or left side hinge mounted doors.
The Door Sentry is designed to
take the pressure or “closing
weight” of a self-closing
fire door and distribute it between
the door and the jamb. It does
not put pressure on the hinge
(common with a hinge-mounted door
stop on the market) which can
cause distortion to both hinges
and doors. This alone can save
your company from having to make
costly repairs to doors and hinge
assemblies. The Door Sentry and
its components are made entirely
in the USA and it comes with a
life-time warranty. If it breaks
for any reason, simply return
it for a new one. |

| We
Recommend |
| |
Hotels
and Resorts that adhere to local
fire department codes regarding
the securing of room doors during
an audible or actual fire alarm,
evacuation of rooming areas, should
improvise their standard operating
procedures to include Guest Room
Attendants removing all Door Sentry’s
before departing the rooming areas.
It’s also advised that properties
use same-key padlocks and insure
that Housekeeping Floor Managers,
Security and Engineering personnel
have keys to the locks being implemented
on the Door Sentry’s in
the event a Guest Room Attendant
has departed the rooming area
during an evacuation and has failed
to remove a Door Sentry. A Door
Sentry can be a useful tool for
Security Departments to use to
assist with an evacuation where
key doors need to be kept open. |
